Tommy the cat is looking for a loving new home........

A few weeks ago (mid October 2011) Tommy's owner died and he is now seeking a loving new home with comfy bed and new teddy bear friends :)

A few days after the death of his owner Tommy found himself in danger of being made homless but thanks to some very kind people, Tommy is now staying here with us at Treetops. This means that Tommy is now safe, warm and being cared for but obviously it would be very nice to find him a permanent new loving home.

We think Tommy is about 10 years old, he is fully vaccinated but does have some special needs. A few years ago following an X-ray, it was discovered that at some point in his earlier years, Tommy had sustained a broken neck. This has resulted in Tommy having a bit of an unusual walk and he needs grooming regularly as he can not groom his right side - he likes being gently groomed though. He is not on any medication at this time and is a clean and tidy cat when using a litter tray, and he can also use a cat flap. Tommy is a little over weight just now as a result of having too many treats we believe but this is not a major problem and hopefully with correct feeding his weight will adjust in the weeks/months to come.

Ideally Tommy needs a quiet home with no other pets and no young children. He is a little wary of strangers but once he gets to know you, he is quite friendly.

If you think you may be able to offer Tommy a new home (mid/east Cornwall/Plymouth areas) please either email Jane at: treetops.cattery@btinternet.com or call 01579 340079

Update mid January 2012:
Tommy is still staying with us here at Treetops and he is a lovely character. Just before Christmas he did have some tests at the vets to check his general health and everything is fine apart from his weight. Tommy is a big lad weighing some 8.5kg - ideally he should weigh around 5kg! So he is now on a very strict diet and hopefully his weight will soon start to reduce - any one fancy sponsoring his weight loss to help with his care costs? Together with Torpoint Cats Protection we are actively seeking a nice new home for Tommy and hopefully it won't be too much longer before I can post that tommy has somewhere he can really call home again with a nice comfy armchair and bed with teddies....... :)
