Scooby here - Treetops Cattery official blogger

I know, Scooby tends to be a dogs name but I didn't choose it and I'm also a little girl, well not so little now but that's another story.... Anyway, as I spend some of my time reclining gracefully in the cattery office I thought I would have a go at this blog lark in the hope that I might finally find the 'mouse' that apparently appears near this computer thing from time to time. Sorry for any spelling mitsakes etc., but my paws aren't really designed for this keyboard thingy :)

A little of how I came to find myself as Treetops head 'meeter and greeter' as Treetops was not my original home but having stayed here with my brothers a few times as a guest and as my family live not that far away, I soon discovered that by crossing the field next to our garden, as if by magic I found myself back with Auntie Jane and all my feline friends. At first I couldn't understand why they were not very pleased to see me but given each time I was taken back to my real home, even if I was kept in for a few days, the minute I was let out I crossed the field back to Treetops. Unlike that guy on TV who liked the product so much he bought the company, I don't have a monetary 'kitty' so I voted with my paws. In the end my Auntie Jane and my original 'two foot' mum had a chat and it was decided that I could stay wherever I was most happy and the rest as they say is history.

If you come with your 'two-foots' to the cattery I am sure to be around somewhere unless I'm either having a quick catnap in a comfy sunny spot or terrorising the local wildlife. Just can't understand why some of my pressie's are not appreciated in the spirit they are given.

Providing I am left in the office alone from time to time, I will try to do a monthly blog of my life here at Treetops......

January 2012

Well something called Christmas has been and gone for another year and here we are nearly at the end of January. I am spending quite a bit of time indoors as its been a bit wet and cold for spending too much time outside and at least there hasn't been any of that cold white wet stuff as yet this winter. I also like being indoors as I get lots of cuddles. Plenty of early spring flowers around and I have noticed that the birds are quite active on the bird table, not that I am spending much time there at the moment as I sit and watch from the window in the warm. I'm looking forward to the longer and hopefully warmer days returning so that I can spend a bit more time outside again - must be careful not to put on too much weight while taking life easy :) Luv & Purrs, Scoobie ^..^

My its been a while since I posted something here, thats because I have been so busy enjoying myself as only us cats can :) I have tried to make myself available for fuss though everytime people appear which has been very nice. While it is still nice and mild I'm out and about most days during the hours of daylight even if I get a bit wet but that also has a good side as I then have to be dried off when I return to the office which is great fun and means more cuddles. Auntie Jane doesn't seem to pleased though when I return and insist on putting wet paw prints on her paperwork or whatever she is working on :) Luv & Purrs, ^..^ Scooby

Brrrr - mid August and its feeling very autumnal just now, its raining at the moment and just a bit chilly......I have been a very busy little cat in recent weeks, I've been outside in the garden when it has been dry and I have seen lots of old and new friends coming and going. Uncle John is up and about again outside and keeping me company from time to time in the garden. He is still limping a bit but much improved :)Hope we still have a bit of summer to come as I just love the sunshine. Luv & purrs, ^..^ Scobbie x

Well, haven't we had some lovely weather during the past month or two and I have been spending a lot of time outside doing all the things us cats like to do:) Unfortunately, 'Auntie Jane' has been very busy in recent weeks as 'Uncle John' fell off a ladder a few weeks ago, managing to badly break his left leg, so I'm trying to be really good just now which isn't always easy........Only seen my 'Uncle John' a few times outside and he seems to have gained a couple of 'extra legs' just now to help him get around. Doesn't seem as nimble on them though as us cats :)Hopefully it won't be too long now before he is on the mend and out in the garden again. Right, time for my afternoon nap in a favourite sunny spot. I've been so busy sun bathing in recent weeks and watching for the Easter bunny, that I haven't spent that much time in the office near the PC thingy. Have seen lots of my friends coming and going for their holidays in recent weeks as well and I always seem to get some fuss from the 2 foots :) Have to admit I have been in disgrace once or twice, over the weekend I was 'playing' with a slow worm that Auntie Jane rescued from me and then there are some nesting blackbirds close by........... Right must go and get a bit more sun bathing done as Auntie Jane seems to think it is going to rain in the next day or two. More in May if its not too sunny and I'm busy doing what us cats do :)

Gosh, where did January go? Think I must have snoozed most of it away in the warmth of the office :) A lot milder today but very windy and us cats don't like the wind much do we. Just had a quick trip outside and then decided to return to the office to use my litter tray - got to keep auntie Jane busy! Plenty of birds visiting the bird table and the crow's look as if they are about to start nest building in their favourite tree again. Also, lots of buds and bulbs gradually beginning to appear - soon have longer days and flowers again. My apologies for neglecting my 'meeter & greeter' duties in recent weeks but I like my warmth and comfort :) Footsteps approaching, time for me to get back to my favourite spot near the window from where I can keep an eye on all that moves.......
